2041 cover imageTurco-Italian War 1912: Official message on laid paper (124 x 183 mm.), signed by Governor of the Italian Regime, dated 12 January 1912, written in Arabic, dropped from the air over Berber tribesman in Libya, pertaining to the naval battle in the Red Sea on 7 January 1912 and the sinking of Turkish ships as well as the capture of a yacht which was expected in Tarabulus (today Tripoli). Irregular top and bottom edges and small tear, otherwise fine and very rare with circa 20 examples known; with an exhibition page together with a postcard mailed from Battaglione Specialisti del Genio Cantiere Dirigibili Tripoli, postmarked 'CORPO d' ARMATA-TRIPOLITANIA' dated 20 August 1912, addressed to a Lt.
