Additionally, exhibiting a number of plate flaws on both upper and lower sheets, including, Wattle Line corrected third state (*L1), flaw under neck second re-entry (*L7), Ferns retouched (*L24), RA joined retouched (*L30), break in left frame 3.5 mm. from top retouched (5/31), broken top to Crown (5/38), white scratch behind kangaroo (5/49), notched NE corner (5/59), white spot in SE corner (*R24), white spot on L of AUSTRALIA (*R25), kangaroo's tongue out re-entered (*R26), run N retouched (*R30), notched NW corner (6/40), deformed shading in oval "E" of POSTAGE (6/59), and ASH sans-serif imprint block of four. OS vertical pair and three pieces with multiple frankings on top of each other; one with 5 stamps layered on a piece which has been circulated three times. Condition is mixed. Useful assembly. 5036 cover image1926/30: Australia 1½ d. scarlet, a single example used on 1930 cover to Roath, Cardiff tied by "SHIP ROOM / WESTERN AUSTRALIA" cds (March 3) in black. Struck with framed DAMAGED BY FIRE / ON / S.S. "COMORIN" in violet applied after the "Comorin" caught fire in the Number 3 hold in Colombo Harbour, Ceylon as she was about to sail. Seawater was used to flood the hold to extinguish the fire, which was only accomplished on the 14th March. 90100 cover image1877/92: Group of 15 cards and covers, many of which are uprated and to overseas destinations, and a number of mixed country frankings, as well as postage due. Noted; South Australia 1877 stationery card 1 penny violet with 1891 surcharge “5D” in red on 6 pence pale brown, sent to Dusseldorf, Germany, with “T” in triangle, treated as imprint stamp invalid. Victoria 1890 stationery card 3 pence red on green card uprated with a combination of a stationery ½ penny cut-out and 2½ pence to Germany. Also, Victoria 1897 card “1½d” surcharge in red on 2 pence violet in combinations with 6 pence blue for late fee when posted at dockside. Condition varies in places, although mostly fine for the better items. Useful group (15).
