1939 cover imageTogo Anglo-French Occupation 1914–15: An exceptional group of six covers and postcards, all franked with overprinted "TOGO Occupation franco-anglaise" adhesives, including a fine 1914 (Oct. 21) picture postcard to Paris (re-addressed to Marseilles) bearing 5 c. and 10 c. tied by crisp "ANECHO TOGO" cds, with transit on reverse; 1914 (Nov. 13) colour postcard (Norddeutsche Missionkirche, Palime) to London franked by "10" c. on 5 pf. green (Type III, position 19/21/26) tied by indistinct cds (possibly Station Palime) with Lomé transit to front (10 DEC 14), addressee erased however a very rare commercial usage (Yvert 24b); 1915 (Jan. 30) large commercial envelope of the Deutsch-Südamerikanische Telegraphengesellschaft (crossed out), Lome to Liverpool franked 20 pf. blue tied by Lomé cds, a scarce high-value franking; 1915 (July 30) local Lomé cover franked by three 1 d. on 5 pf. green tied by "TOGOGEBIET" cds; 1915 (Jan. 27) postcard to Chester, England franked 5 pf. green (torn and part missing) tied by Lomé cds with a contemporary message referencing the British occupation; and 1915 (Apr. 26) registered envelope from Anecho to Paris, a spectacular multi-franking with 3 pf. strip of three, 5 pf. pair, 20 pf., 25 pf. and 30 pf., each tied by "ANECHO TOGO" cds with registration label alongside, with different types of overprint. Condition mixed. A remarkable and scarce assemblage, combining both commercial and philatelic usages, and a fine representation of the occupation period (Image 1) (Image 2)

68 cover imageKamerun – German Colonial Postal Stationery & Forerunners 1890-1908: A scarce and diverse assembly of eight examples, beginning with the 1890 10 pf. forerunner card to Dornumersiel showing the rare “Kamerun / Biafraküste” datestamp (used only Dec. 1889–May 1890); German 1897 Crown & Eagle stationery including 10 pf. letter card uprated and used to Germany, and unusual 5 pf.+5 pf. green reply card with differing overprint angles; 10 pf. red reply card used from Cassel to Rio del Rey (scarce, Steuer mark); 1900-03 Yacht issues including 5 pf. reply card from Darmstadt to Buea (Bothe mark); and 1908 3 pf. brown Yacht private picture postcards (two unused, one used Duala–Rombach), the unused examples noted as rare and unpriced in Michel. 5195 cover image1892 (2. Aug.). Brief von Bibundi, Kamerun nach USA frankiert mit 1890 20 Pfg. mittelultramarin entw. "BIBUNDI 2/8 92" zusammen mit US-Portomarke 1c. gest. mit 'ADVERTISED' Datumsstp. und rückseitigem "CHICAGO CITY DELIVERY Nov. 5" sowie 'Dead Letter Office Nov. 10.92" als 'unclaimed' gestempelt zurück nach Burundi mit AStp. vom 12. Feb. 1893". Die 20 Pf. Marke mit leichten Bug und kl. Zahnfehler, die amerikanische Portomarke mit minimem Bug unten. 71 cover imageCameroons – British & French Occupation Postal Stationery 1915-1930: An exceptional group of five examples, comprising both British and French Occupation issues: 1915 C.E.F. surcharged postal cards, including the 5 pf. green used to France with “AFRIQUE” ship mark (one of only two recorded) and a reply card used from Duala to Liverpool (one of three recorded); French Occupation 1915 10 pf. carmine card to Paris with “Trésor et Postes aux Cameroun” cancel, together with 5 pf. green card from Edea to Brest with “Marine Française Service à la Mer” cachet; and British Cameroon 1927 usage of Nigeria 2 d. stationery envelope with additional franking from Buea to Berlin, showing the earliest recorded date of the rare “BUEA / Under British Mandate” skeleton cancel. Condition slightly mixed as usual but overall fine. A very scarce and desirable group, including several items of exhibition importance (Image 1)

74 ** image1915: 1 d. on 10 pf. black surcharge, corner marginal block of 24 stamps (4 x 6) from the upper left of the sheet. Unmounted with original gum, showing some offset printing on the gum side from the surcharge priting. The perforation is folded between the 3rd and 4th rows and between the 5th and 6th lines. This block includes the variety '1 with thin serifs' at position 51. SG £ 551+, Mi € 2400+. Accompanied by a certificate from RPSL (2016). According to Gibbs, the black surcharge is scarce, making the SG valuation seem somewhat unrealistic (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)

75 ** imageCameroons Expeditionary Force: 1915: 40 pf. black & carmine, overprinted "C.E.F." and surcharged "4d" in black, a marginal sheet of one hundred (100), unused, original gum. All stamps never hinged, just small part of margin at top has tiny paper adhesion. Two stamps on the bottom row have the variety "short 4" to surcharge. Folded lightly vertically between perf. columns 5 & 6, the odd perf. separation in margin. Very fresh and fine. Most impressive piece Gi = £ 3'400+ as singles (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3)

76 cover image1915: Part collection of the Anglo-French occupation of Cameroon, comprising 10 pieces. This includes a philatelic cover with 3d on 30pf and ½d on 5pf, addressed to England, and a picture postcard from Duala featuring a ½d on 5pf stamp on the front (uncirculated). There are three mixed frankings, combining lower value stamps with those from both Northern and Southern Nigeria, or simply Nigeria, all registered to a known address in Berne, Switzerland. Additionally, there are five items with overprinted 'CAMEROUN Occupation Francaise,' which include one regular-sized envelope registered with five overprinted stamps mixed with Nigeria to Switzerland and four small stationery envelopes: one unused, one inland use via regular mail, one registered to Germany, and one registered to Switzerland (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4)

77 cover image1915: Lot including a picture postcard from German Kamerun, franked with a ½ d. on 5 pf. colonial stamp and addressed to Lome, Togo, with an additional censor cancel. It also features three 'Blatter-covers', each differently franked with surcharged stamps: one with a 1 d. from Nigeria, another with a 9 d. from Northern Nigeria, and one with an overprint stamp from Moyen Congo. All are registered and have arrival marks from Berne. The set includes three issued cards with CTO cancellations, one of which is addressed and marked with a pen cancellation on a ½ d. card. The unused cards in the lot comprise eight ½ d on 5 Pf cards, five reply cards, one single reply , and six 1d on 10 pf. cards.
