Sultan Ali bin Hamoud Issue 1906: De La Rue composite photographic Essay for proposed 2 a.
value on sunken card (89 x 114 mm.), photographic head plate in brown oval overlaid on imperforate bromide pale buff frame, hand-painted in Chinese white around the edge of the Essay and around the oval; dated at top in manuscript "Dec 17th, 06" in
ink. This Essay being the one sent to Mr. A.W. Clarke on leave from Zanzibar and sent care of the Foreign Office and unaccepted, the duplicate Essay is illustrated in "The De La Rue Collection" edited by Frank Walton RDP, on page 6594. Superb and
