92 image1865: India 8 p. purple and 2 a. orange (3) used on 1869 cover from Bombay to Mauritius endorsed "via Aden" all tied by "Bombay / India Paid / 1" duplexes (Aug 10) in black and by firm's chop in red, paying the 6 a. 8 p. rate for an under ½ ounce letter. Carried on the P&O steamer "Salsette" to Aden and the French steamer "Ermine" to Rêunion and Mauritius. Reverse with Aden double arc cds in red (Aug 19) and arrival cds (Sept 7), charged with "1d. / TO PAY" handstamp in blue. Slight bend on adhesives but a charming and attractive entire. Carried on the "Golconda" to Aden and the "Sultan" to Mahê and Mauritius. The cover was underpaid 5 d. for the Sept 1865 8 annas rate (note '10' in manuscript) and taxed at double the deficiency on receipt with scarce "1/4d. / TO PAY" handstamp in blue for 10 d. + 6 d. inward charge. 96 image1854: Small collection on one sheet made up of six examples ½ a. blue, 1 a. red (6), 2 a. green (2), and 4 a. red and blue cut to shape, with a March 1858 entire letter from Madras to Mayaveram franked 1 a. red and 2 a. green.
