Coronation 5 kr. slate, sepia & silver, position 5, the famous used example showing variety "Inverted Overprint", neatly cancelled by "Bouchir (Depart) cds (Sept 19) in black. Fresh colour and very fine but for hinge thin at top which does not affect the appearance, just two examples are recorded: the other (position 4) is housed in the collection of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and is illustrated in Wilson on the colour plate XII. Believed unique in private hands, a magnificent stamp for the philatelic connoisseur. Cert. 3224 imageColony of Canada 1851 (Sept 18): Prince Albert 6 d. brown-purple on laid paper, a fresh and fine adhesive with good to large margins, cancelled by seven ring target obliterator on 1852 cover from St. Catherine's to New York, "St CATHERINE'S" despatch (July 15) despatch cds and two-line "CANADA PAID 10 Cts", both in red alongside. Reverse with QUEENSTON transit (July 11) cds. Vertical file fold well away of stamp, a most attractive cover, fully paid to the USA. Signed A. Diena; cert.
