1102 image1948/1950: Highly interesting collection of the issues of the period, with approximately fifty proofs and colour trials, including ten different colour combinations of the 1950 "Philatelic Exhibition" miniature sheet. A very insightful lot into the production process of the time. A rare opporrtunity to acquire this material in quantity. 1103 image1856/1924: ROSARIO, collection of early entires, stamps and ephemera, with twenty letters beginning with a prephilatelic clear double oval strike FRANCA, then 1862 Argentine Republic 5c rose good margined copy on letter from Buenos Aires to San Juan with blue double circle arrival, and the same double circle CORREIO DEL ROSARIO on front with close cut horizontal pair to TUCUMAN. Arguably the outstanding item is an 1882 registered letter with mixed 32c franking between 1867 Rivadavia 8c and 1873 Moreno 4c to Italy. The briefly used ROSARIO 'without date' is included on two entires, whilst the remainder is made up of a range of other letters and three fiscal stamps, also with local ROSARIO interest. 1108 image1925/1972: Collection of over 110 Airmail covers, beginning with a couple 1925 internal flights in both directions RIO - CORDOBA, two 1932 ZEPPELIN PAN-AMERICA flights, as well as a range of subsequent flights. Mail to Europe dominates this collection, with a good range of advertising cards for the competing CONDOR and AIR FRANCE service. A CRISTOBAL CZ plane crash cover from 1937 with stamps missing bears testimony to the difficulties aviation pioneers faced. The collection also includes the rare 1932 first experimental flight from BUENOS AIRES to MONTEVIDEO, as well as the first direct flight from BUENOS AIRES to NEW YORK. A fine lot for the airmail enthusiast. (Image 1) (Image 2) (Image 3) (Image 4) (Image 5) (Image 6) (Image 7) (Image 8) (Image 9) (Image 10) (Image 11) (Image 12) (Image 13) (Image 14) (Image 15)
