5199 image1842/45: Official usages (2) with OHMS printed cover to Cricklewood franked by 1840 2 d. blue, plate 2, lettered IK, touched to large margins, tied by black Maltese Cross with London datestamp (April 29, 1842) on reverse; together with 1841 2 d. blue pair, pl. 3, lettered TK-TL used on OHMS endorsed cover to Montrose tied by Forfar '144' numeral obliterators. A scarce pairing, especially the 1840 2d. blue used on printed O.H.M.S. cover is very rare! (Image 1)

Reverse with Cheltenham despatch cds in blue (June 7) and London transit in red. Obverse with weak strike of "SHIP LETTER / ♚ / LONDON" in red with the Forwarding Agent's legend deleted in manuscript alongside. A rare cover.
