3914 image1903: Opening of the New Post Office in Bucharest, the complete set of fifteen values from 1 b. to 5 l. unused with somewhat tropicalised reverse, each handstamped ULTRAMAR in violet (the 50 b. and 40 b. showing partial double overprints) by the Portuguese Ministry of the Colonies upon receipt from the UPU in Berne. The 10 b. rose sadly defective at lower left and rounded corner on 5 l. but the balance of the set very fine. An extremely scarce set. (Image 1)

3915 image1908/10: Carol I, Imperforate Proof for 10 b. value in black on medium greyish wove paper, a block of eight (4 x 2) numbered '661' at top, with last two subjects crossed through in manuscript ink (top example with incomplete shading of leaves, lower example with Duty plate blank), further manuscript endorsements in red ink. 3917 image1935/1940 (May): King Carol II definitive issues, the 8 new values and colour changes, as sent to the UPU in horizontal strips of three and forwarded on to the Mauritanian Post Office where kept as examples of new issues; with 2 l. green, 3 l. greenish-blue, 5 l. carmine, 8 l. red lilac,  9 l. blue, 12 l. deep blue, 15 l. blackish-brown and 24 l. bright carmine all applied to part page and each security handstamped with three line "SPÉCIMEN / COLLECTION / MAURITANIE" cachets in rose-red.
