2793 image1883 (Sept 27): Page from the De La Rue archives with "St. Lucia Postage Stamps / Existing and proposed Schemes of Colours" showing the 1882 ½ d. dull green, 1 d. carmine-rose and 2½ d. blue } "Colours established by the International / Postal Convention for these duties", and proposals below with 1860/76 design in brown, perf. 12 to replace the 4 d. yellow (perf. 12, Gi 29) and 6 d. violet and 1 s. orange (perf. 14) below } "These colours cannot be improved upon". At left Antigua keyplates ½ d. deep brown, ½ d. pale violet and ½ orange-brown perforated 12 Colour Trials applied to indicate the proposed new colours which were adopted in 1885. Illustrated in the 'De La Rue Collection' edited by Frank Walton RDP on page 5512. A wonderful and rare page for the specialist of both Antigua and St. Lucia.
