1643 image1928: Postal Stationery 1 d. black & carmine on buff Newspaper wrappers (3), all unused with varieties: the first with Ship central vignette misplaced 3 mm. to left, second example with the Ship vignette misplaced to right by 11 mm. shift; the third example presumably trapped in the press with two impressions of the Frame Only (one significantly over-inked) with "Van Riebeeck's Ship Missing" variety, this last with minor crease which contributed to the error and tiny tear at base. A rare and most appealing group, two illustrated in Edition D'Or XLV on page 26 H&G E5 var. (Image 1)
