110 image1862/63: 1 d. vermilion, a fine used example showing arguably the rarest cancellation found on the Le Coq issues: a superb strike of the framed Floral Rose handstamp "The Chanta Rosette" in black, this being the sole example with full oval frame (Lamy & Rinck fig 83 / Emsing E188). Illustrated in Emsing, an exceptional and a key item of Peruvian Postal History.rnNote: Chanta is a farmhouse and ranch located in the valley of Chanta to the Maranon, Huagayoc District, has 268 inhabitants. This postmark, according to Georges Lamy, was initially found on a letter dated December 19, 1866 mailed to Trujillo. As Chanta obviously had no Post Office, this was either a private production by the sender or applied in Huagayoc or Trujillo. (Image 1) (Image 2)
