40 image1873: Lithographed 1 peso dull yellow, perf. 11¾, an unused block of four of rich colour, centred somewhat to left, the lower two stamps with thin spots and each with tiny black ink spots not greatly detracting from the frontal appearance, unused without gum. Despite the imperfections this is a magnificent block in the circumstances - whilst Lind / Goodman recorded eight pairs of this stamp (one used pair was recently sold by Corinphila in Moorhouse sale II, lot 4058) - this is the sole recorded block of four of this stamp.
