The gigantic post-historical special collection of the KAISERLICH DEUTSCHE MARINE of a designated VP association philatelic expert: Thousands of covers of the Imperial German Navy in 61(!) volumes with comprehensive representation of all warships from the time of the foundation of the German Empire (including the Prussian fleet) to the end of World War 1. In detail: Vol. 1-14: Contemporary picture postcards with named ship depictions, vols. 15-24: Naval bases and deployment locations in WW1, vols.25-61: Naval ship postmarks by MSP numbers, letter postmarks and field postmarks of the naval field post. Contains an encyclopedic presentation of the ship types of armored ships, ships of the line, battleships, heavy and small cruisers, gunboats, torpedo boats, destroyers, minesweepers, sweepers, auxiliary cruisers ("raiders"), minelayers, net-layers, barrage breakers, workshop ships, tenders, escort boats, tankers, supply ships, hospital ships, accommodation ships, training ships, research craft, port operating craft, landing craft, colonial and river craft, outpost boats - and even 5 vols. field post of the Imperial submarines. Just before completion of the application formals and final examination he unexpectedly passed away from cancer. Der Sammler war Außenhandelskaufmann und Prokurist in einem Internationalen Handelshaus, später Firmengründer. Seiner Passion für Postgeschichte entsprang diese über Jahrzehnte aufgebaute Sammlung, mit der er sich 2016 als Prüfaspirant für MSP-Stempel/Marineschiffspost bewarb. Noch vor der Prüfgebietsabnahme verstarb er überraschend an einer Krebserkrankung. Die Prüfvergleichssammlung ruhte seitdem und wird hier erstmals überhaupt im Gesamtwerk und Sinne des Sammlers präsentiert.
