382 image1862-1959 extensive M collection housed in two stock books with a range of the early issues, incl. 1853 1c (2), 20c (2), 1862 1c (2), 5c (2) & 20c, 1863 1c (3), 2c (3 + SPECIMEN), 4c (2), 10c & 20c (block of six). Also noted, 1870 1c (2), 2c (2), 4c and 1871 to 5c (2). Whilst the condition of these is a little mixed (poor examples have not been valued), they present an attractive group and M examples are seldom offered. A few U here & there, incl. the 1869 5f (short perf). The 'Peace & Commerce' issues incl. Type I 1c, 4c and the scarce 20c (Cat. £850), Type II to 1f and 1877 to 50c with shades plus 5f (Cat. £750), 'Mouchons', 'Sowers', and 'Mersons' with 1900 to 5f incl. 2x 2f (Cat. £1100 each). Strong and comprehensive coverage thereafter, with 1917 War Orphans set (Cat. £3500) with two each of the 50c to 5f, the 1922 set, 1923 Bordeaux (Cat. £650), 1927 Strasbourg M/Sheet (2, Cat. £1600 each), 1927 Airs (Cat. £600), the Sinking Funds, 1929 to 5f etc. Also the 1936 Airs with set to 50f green (Cat. £1300), the 50f ultramarine (Cat. £1000) and 10f myrtle green (Cat. £500), 1937 PEXIP M/sheet (Cat. £600), the Postage Due sets, Relief Funds, 1949 & 1954 Airs etc. (Image)
