Longley Auctions Sale - 25

Public Auction Featuring Canada, Boer War, Pacific Islands - January 18, 2020

Longley Auctions is proud to present their 25th auction which will be held January 18, 2020. The sale features extensive Canada and worldwide, particularly:
  • The Boer War collection formed by Earl Palmer including several “En Route” covers, extensive examples from identified units, a cover from a VC winner, illustrated patriotic covers and much more.
  • The Pacific Islands collection formed by Dr. George Vanner covers all eras but is particularly strong in mint modern, with dealer level quantities up to 10 or 12 of each, including specialized S/Ss, booklets, covers etc. This collection came to us in TWO U-Haul trailers and is bound to be of interest to specialized collectors and dealers.
  • Canada Leaf and Numeral collection from Leigh Hogg: Further portions of the Leigh Hogg collection include inscription blocks and postal history, especially flag and machine cancels as well as advertising covers.
  • New find of an intact newspaper receipt book (Montreal Herald) with early high value Canada
  • Further specialized Canada including superb examples of early Canada and provinces, especially British Columbia, a 6c Small Queen bisect cover and the remarkable newspaper receipt booklet. This booklet was used by newspapers for bulk payment of mailing and includes Large Queens, Widow Weeds (in quantity), Small Queens, and Jubilee issue high values.
Bids can be submitted through Stamp Auction Network until Friday, Jan. 17 at midnight. The live public auction will take place on Saturday, Jan. 18 starting at 10AM.

Please note that our auction is conducted in Canadian funds where 1 US$ = $1.31 Canadian. This buying advantage is particularly noticeable on worldwide lots, where Canadian buyers treat the Scott CV as Canadian dollars, but are in fact 31% higher. Good deals can be had in the worldwide section.

Please sign up to bid with us, and send an email to bill@longleyauctions.com to identify your collecting interest. We will be happy to notify you of future sales, and private treaty items in your collecting area.

Sincerely,
Bill Longley
