WORLDWIDE
LotNo. Symbol Lot Description Cat. Value
417 image EXTENSIVE WORLDWIDE COLLECTION IN 31 LARGE THREE RING BINDERS, includes about 146,000 different mint and used singles, includes 430+ different countries, hinged in 31 large three ring binders on homemade pages and contained in five large cartons, most of the larger countries are well represented and include a fair amount of pre-1900 material for each country but many countries run up to the 1990's with some later, also many countries have good showings of B.O.B. material, the overall condition is mixed and there are faults to be expected and there are some mint items which are slightly stuck down, also this collection was stored in a basement for many years and there is some slight mildew scent, the percentage of mint and used is nearly 50-50, some of the early mint is unused, the catalog value listed is from a inventory provided by the consignor which is listed by country, it is our opinion that the actual catalog value will be closer to $275,000 given some identification issues and also some reprints and condition issues here and there, also the owners catalog value is from 2016 and this fact was taken into account in our "reevaluation" estimate, catalog values up to about $500 with some higher and significant number of items which catalog in the $25-100 range, so there is plenty to work whith here, some of the better countries include: Australia($7340), Austria($5980), Belgium($3690), Canada($6670), China($5420), China-PRC($2630), Denmark($7290), France($17,840), Germany($13,300), Great Britain($12,900), Hong Kong($3150), Iceland($8080), India($3000), Iran($5430), Italy($10,980), Japan($4710), New Zealand($4110), Norway($5100), Russia($5620), Spain($3110), Sweden($3710), Switzerland($7700), Turkey($12,700), there is NO U.S. included that lot is listed elsewhere in this sale, we have included a number of scans of some of the better pages from some of the better countries, viewing this one will take some time, a very interesting and valuable collection with a signficant number of stamps and a huge amount of catalog value, well worth careful consideration and certainly one of the better Worldwide collections in terms of value and number of different stamps we have offered in quite some time, good luck to the buyer of this massive collection with many, many hours of hunting and picking ahead (Image)

418 image EXTENSIVE WORLDWIDE COLLECTION IN 1878 BRIEFMARKEN ALBUM, includes several hundred mixed mint and used singles, contained in a very, very old 1878 hardbound album, the spine has moved away from the bound pages in the front, the cover of the album is in decent shape, virtually all the stamps from all the various countries in this collection are PRE 1880, there is also a nice U.S. section which are highlighted by a #1 & 2 along with many Official issues, the overall condition is very mixed and unfortunately every stamp has been adhered with a small bit of adhesive, we were able to "extract" a couple dozen off the pages without damaging the stamp but there are some that are stuck down a little more than others, we did a rough catalog value of this collection for the major countries and the minimum total is the value listed here but we wouldn't be surprised that the actual catalog value is north of $200K, also the authenticity issues which come with classic collections should be minimized since many of these stamps were probably added shortly after this album was printed, some of the better countries include: Germany & States($53,000), Austria($1,400), Switzerland($7,000), Belgium($1,000), Netherlands($1,200), France($10,000), Italy & States($23,000), Spain($1,200), Portugal($1,000), Great Britain($8,500), Denmark($3,200), Norway($1,200), Asia($3,500), Africa($2,500), U.S. & B.O.B.($25,000), Canada & Prov.($17,000), So. America($5,000), Australia & States & N.Z.($4,500), a really very interesting collection and without question the earliest bound album we have ever offered, there is certainly a significant amount of retail value which can be mined from this amazing collection (Image)
