1307 Crash Mail. 1953-54 Covers comprising 1953 (May 1) cover from Ipoh to G.B franked $1.40 with violet Calcutta Comet Crash cachet; 1954 cover from Penang to G.B recovered from the Comet crash at Elba with red "DAMAGED BY SEAWATER / COMET MAIL", Officially Sealed labels tied by London F.S c.d.s (Jan 26); and covers from Australia (3) or New Zealand to G.B recovered from the Singapore crash, two with cachets, two others enclosed within ambulance envelopes with printed cachets, one of these an Australian Money Order Advice cover, also another ambulance envelope with printed cachet endorsed "Money Order Advice New South Wales No. 3069". 1324 Wreck Mail. 1921 (Mar 21) Picture postcard of Penang, posted from Taiping to England, water damaged with the stamp washed off, handstamped boxed "DAMAGED BY IMMERSION / IN SEA WATER I.S". From the P&O "Kalyan", whose mails were found to be water damaged upon arrival at Marseille on April 18th, unusual from Malaya.
