605 image1936 (June 15) Cover from Bergen to Honningsvaag with 20ore meter, recovered from the JU.52 "Havorn" which crashed into cliffs at Sognfjord on June 16th killing six crew and passengers and destroying most of the mail. Handstamped "Bergens postkontor / Brevavdalingen" with manuscript endorsement, the reverse handstamped "Gjenfunnet post / fra "Havorn"". Scarce, a few letters recovered from the base of the cliffs. 606 1936 Covers from Ceylon to Germany franked 80c, both recovered from the Imperial Airways flying boat "Scipio" which crashed and sank when landing at Mirabella Bay in Crete on August 22nd. Both covers with explanatory labels applied at Brindisi, one reading "Lettre endommagee de l'eau de la / mer a la suit du sinistre aerien", the other with a virtually identical label but with the second line ending "desastre aerien", Brindisi backstamps. Two unusual labels, only used on mail to Italy and Germany. (2). N.360822r, s.

607 1936-88 Crash covers comprising 1936 covers from Egypt (2) or India recovered from the Imperial Airways flying boat "Scipio", 1937 cover from India recovered from the "Cygnus" and 1938 covers from G.B to New Zealand with violet "RECEIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION / EX FLYING BOAT CALPURNIA" (2), 1954 Singapore crash cover, and 1988 Post Office ambulance envelope bearing orange label "Packet damaged by plane crash" tied by 1988 (Jan. 28) Glasgow c.d.s (with March 22 Royal Mail letter explaining the night air service flight crashed at Derby airport on January 25th and burst into flames), also a few related news cuttings. 611 1929 Orient Flight, cover and picture postcards (2) all cancelled on the Zeppelin, one postcard to Port Said dropped over the city, the cover to Er Ramle and a postcard to Cairo both dropped over Er Ramle, all with flight cachets and datestamps of Port Said or "ER RAMLE" (2, the postcard to Cairo incorrectly included amongst the Palestine mails), also a postcard of the Zeppelin. 612 1930 First South American Flight, postcards bearing the special overprinted 2m (2, to Rio de Janeiro or Buenos Ayres) or 2m + 4m, the last card to Germany carried on the entire round flight via South and North America, the others flown to Rio with oval "CORREIO AEREO / RIO DE JANEIRO" arrival datestamp (May 25), two cards posted at Friedrichshafen (May 18), the other posted at Berlin on May 19th and flown to Spain to catch up with the Zeppelin at Seville with red boxed cachet. Also a registered cover to Friedrichshafen which enclosed a cover for this flight, and two picture postcards. (6).

613 1931 Egypt flight, postcards to Germany both posted on the Zeppelin with the Luftschiff Graf Zeppelin c.d.s and red cachet, 10th April card endorsed "affranchissement percu 1RM" due to the Zeppelin post office having run out of stamps, the second an 8pf postcard posted on 13th April franked 1m, the stamp presumably supplied by the sender. An interesting pair, the first offloaded at Cairo with the Caire Graf Zeppelin c.d.s, the second flown back to Friedrichshafen. (2).

619 Egypt. 1931 Egypt Flight, covers from Egypt to Palestine or Syria all flown from Cairo, around Jerusalem, then back to Cairo and despatched by rail, comprising cover to Jerusalem with Zeppelin 50m (2) tied by Port Said c.d.s, cover to Jaffa franked Zeppelin 100m tied by Cairo c.d.s, and cover to Damascus franked Zeppelin 50m and seven other stamps all tied by Alexandria datestamps.
