515 Chevalier / "Iona". 1883-91 Covers with Iona Steamer datestamps all applied during the winter months when the service was actually operated on the "Chevalier", comprising single ring backstamp code B (1883), double ring c.d.s code B used as a cancellation (2, 1890 & 1891) or backstamp (2, 1885 & 1891), also cancels on four single stamps, a few faults but scarce. 521 Grenadier. 1911 Picture postcard of S.S "Grenadier" written on the steamer en route to Staffa and Iona, the ½d stamp cancelled at Oban, with violet cachet "GRENADIER". Also a 1904 (July 11) postcard written on "S.S Grenadier off Staffa", the ½d stamp cancelled at Iona. The only example of this steamer cachet we have seen, offered "as-is". (2).
