437 1905 (Dec 15) and 1908 (Dec 17) Post Office Circulars both detailing Christmas postal arrangements, with details of the experimental advance posting scheme operating in several towns, whereby items posted in advance will be delivered on Christmas eve or Christmas day (in 1905) or Christmas day only in 1908. The 1908 circular confirms the scheme at Liverpool & District, Manchester & District and Leicester and shows it was extended to Norwich and Reading, whilst mail posted under the scheme could now be addressed anywhere in the UK. (2).
