278 1902 KEVII ½d - £1 Set of sixteen overprinted "Specimen" (½d type 17, 1d, 1½d, 2½d, 3d, 6d type 15, other values type 16) all stuck onto card (210x295mm) headed "Postage Great Britain", presumably displayed in a Post office to show the new KEVII stamps, unfortunately faded severely affecting the 1d, 2d, 2½d, 5d, 9d, 1/- and 10/- values, the others with reasonably good colour, some tone spots also affecting several stamps. An interesting and scarce item.

279 1902 Mint ½d yellowish-green and 1d controls (15, most in multiples) and other blocks; and mint De La Rue 1½d (27) or Somerset House 1½d (22) with printings and shades identified, including blocks of four (4), strips and pairs. Also ½d yellowish-green "SPECIMEN" type 17 (a little toned), 1906 2/- booklet (stamps removed) and two Post Office Savings Bank deposit slips each bearing twelve 1d stamps. S.G. £2,400 (approx). 281 KEVII 1d (2) and Russia 1913 7k essay die proofs in black on ungummed watermarked paper, printed in c.1928 by Dr Eckerlin's rotary press process for intaglio printing, which he was hoping to sell to the British and Russian Post Offices as a faster and cheaper method of printing stamps than steel engraved printing.
