Worldwide Public Auction - February 6, 2020

Auction 357 is huge with 7,836 lots, catering for all types of collectors & dealers - from bulk accumulations and intact collections to desirable single items. This auction offers a huge range of material, with special emphasis on lotting stamps to cater for collectors with varying types of interests and budgets. Items range from $20 to $80,000 so there's something for everybody. This auction offers strong representation of Australia & Colonies, strong British Empire material of all areas & periods, as well as General Foreign including small and large collections. There are nearly 300 lots of Australian Collections (Lots 95 - 368) and almost 500 lots of World collections (Lots 369 - 806).

Following on there is almost 2200 lots of Australia which consist of singles, sets and covers including Australian colonies (Lots 866 - 3033). The Australian lots cover all periods, from the Kangaroo issues up to Decimal and contains numerous number of mint & used £1 & £2 top values - this includes a Small Multi Watermark £2 Black & rose. Superb fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum. SG 114 cat £4500 for M, should be at least double, £9000 MUH, ACSC 57A cat $20,000. Very rare as MUH & certificate can be obtained on request (Lot 1218).

There are almost 4,600 lots of World stamps, covers and single country collections (Lots 3034 - 7665) with the British Empire well represented, highlighted by a GB 1867-83 QV £5 orange, letters CL, white paper. Superb fresh MUH, pristine never hinged original gum, intense bright colour & excellent centring. SG 137 cat £14,500 for M, should be at least double, £29,000 MUH. Very rare stamp mint as few people could afford to keep a £5 stamp in those times (5 gold sovereigns!). Major rarity in such pristine MUH quality & stunning example of this key stamp(Lot 4950). Numerous other European and Asian rarities as well.
