Sam Houston Philatelics next auction will close on Wednesday, February 20,
2019 at 1:00 PM, Central Time. The sale contains over 700 lots, with
material in all price ranges and something for everyone, collectors and
dealers alike. A few of the highlights include the following:
UNITED STATES, There are about (190) U.S. lots, with approximately (30)
Classics and Banknotes, including nice used no's 122 and 139, and unused
no's 163 and 187; about (30) Columbians and early Commemoratives with nice
copies of $2, $3, $4, and $5 Columbians. Also, a lovely no. 315
imperforate pair. There are about (30) Washington-Franklins including a
block/9 no. 467 and a block/12 no. 505 with period Commemoratives. There
are about (15) 1920 Commemorative and Kansas/Nebraska Overprints; and about
(80) 1930 to Date with a nice selection of over (60) graded issues,
including a few GEM 100.
COVERS, a nice selection of about (40) lots of some Commercial & mostly
FDC covers.
AIRMAIL & BACK OF BOOK ISSUES, contains about (45) lots of Airmails and
BOB lots, with C11 complete top block/10 from a pane, a Pl. no. block/8 of
C18. Includes a nice selection of Revenue stamps and Proofs.
ERRORS, FREAKS & ODDITIES, about (45) lots with interesting selections
of color varieties and shifts, perforation faults and other types of EFO's
with a beautiful copy of 1057b - rare imperforate pair error.
GENERAL FOREIGN & COLLECTIONS, over (100) lots with a variety of
countries, a copy of the Penny Black is included, a nice lot of Canadian
large queens, several PRC lots, and a nice airmail set from Italy. You can
also find some country and topical collections.
AUTOGRAPHS & MISCELLANEOUS, a few lots of miscellaneous and Cinderella
items (6) and a few autographs (6) with a group of convention-type
autographs of Negro Baseball League stars and a historical cover about
being at the South Pole.
DUCK STAMPS AND CONSERVATION STAMPS (Federal, Junior & State) contains
about (280) lots with about (15) collections and covers, (8) Junior Ducks,
most artist signed, (5) PNS's, and (135) Federal singles, Mini-sheets
(10), Press Sheets (8), Artist Signed (30), Duck EFO's (30) to review.
Also, about (15) State items and (19) Federal and State prints, including a
rare RW7 print.
