Postage Dues
image Sale No: 48
Lot No:1634
Symbol:

1930 Photographs of essays for 75c and 3r postage due stamp based upon the Hong Kong dues, one dated "9 OCT 1930". "Postage Dues of Zanzibar" by John Griffith-Jones refers to De La Rue's tender for Zanzibar due in 1930 and illustrates a similar 2c photographic essay, but does not record these two designs. The original painted essays apparently lost or destroyed, therefore only known from these photographs, from the De La Rue archives. A unique pair. (2). Photo on Page 232.
