1914-19 WWI collection comprising Military Field Post Cards x150 (approx) with a wide variety of different unit postmarks & cachets noted 'SMS KAISER MAX' and plenty of interest in the messages such as "... it is a certainty we were betrayed, as three of our own men escaped to them ...", mail to Austro-Hungarian POWs c/- Danish Red Cross or Russian Moskauer Hilfscomite in Denmark x200 (approx) including quite a number from Hungary, a batch of Austrian POW cards x20+ to prisoners in Italy many sent from Prag and other Czech towns, plus Russian POW cards to Austria x60+ with various forms including reply portions, Russian censors & postmarks, a little civilian mail, wide range of censor handstamps & labels, condition a little variable but many are fine to very fine. RUANDA: 1916 'RUANDA' Handstamps on Belgian Congo 5c to 5fr SG 1-7a, the 5c and 15c with black handstamps are a little aged, the 10c 25c 40c  & 50c (lightly mounted) with violet handstamps are all superb unmounted & are probably from the Brussels 'reprints', the 1fr with black handstamp & 'URUNDI' cds (none of these are priced used), the 5fr with purple handstamp has no gum but with Pierre Kaiser (2000) and Luc Vander Marcken (2015) Certificates, Cat £4880 (the 5fr £4250).  (8)

1738 Knights of Malta Ramon Despuig 2 silver scudi (24.25g) Gatt #24-2S-10N10, re-struck (15 degree rotation) on a previously poorly struck planchet showing clear seperated doubling on many of the obverse and reverse legends. John Gatt's superb comprehensive census 'Coins Minted by the Knights of Malta 1530-1798' (2018) lists 14 of this type in museums and 34 in private hands (excluding this coin). Known examples are weakly struck, this coin being in above average condition. (Image1)
