Austria -- Postcard of Vienna with cancel marking the visit of Adolph Hitler Clear and sharp event postmark. Hitler left Germany shortly after the German elections in 1933 to continue his efforts to unite German speaking countries as one. Hitler wanted all German-speaking nations in Europe to be a part of Germany. To this end, he had designs on re-uniting Germany with his native homeland, Austria. Under the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, however, Germany and Austria were forbidden to be unified. Nice early rendering of Vienna on reverse. (Image1)

Stocks and Bonds -- Panama Canal French Bond Certificate with Coupons In 1880 the French began digging a canal across the Isthmus of Panama. After 20 years of work the project was a failure due to disease and financial problems. Over 20,000 men were lost and it cost over $287,000,000. This 1888 French Panama Canal Bond Certificate has 11 France and Canal revenue stamps and great auxiliary marks. A significant piece of history. Condition is typical of these bonds.
