1891 Large Format Lion Label gold on dark red surfaced paper, type C, used as a sealing label on reverse of cover, with YEZD cds and boxed Majani free negative on front, very fine and a rare usage
Note: Although this cover is from a dignitary, who did not have to pay postage, it is significant that it is not from Prince Zell-ol-Sultan. It has been postulated that these large labels were made by Fabius Boital in Paris for Prince Massoud Mirza Zell-ol-Sultan. However, this usage by another dignitary, one year earlier than Zell-ol-Sultan's usage in late 1892, would tend to disprove this position. 505.056: Persia.
