1860-63 ISSUE IN MINT MARGINAL BLOCKS & ON COVER: Stock sheets with an accumulation of stamps (48), mainly in marginal blocks with inscriptions or part inscriptions, and covers (3) inc. 1c black block of 4 and block of 12 (both MNH); 2c purple in two blocks of 4 (1 MH, 1 MNH); 5c blue (2 MH, 1 no gum, 2 used); 8½c green in 2 blocks of 4 (MH); 10c in block of 4 (MH); 12½c in block of 4 (thick cracked gum) and LL strip of 3 (MH); plus two 5c blue used on envs. (1864 or 1865 to Quebec or Halifax), and 10c scarlet used on 1867 env. 1851-60 3d BRIGHT-BLUE QUARTET ON COVER: A set of 3 envs. and 1 EL franked with single v. fine 4-margined 3d bright-blue stamps inc. an 1854 mourning env. to Halifax with stamp tied by an oval grid cancel, and Picton N.S. & oval Halifax cds's on back; an 1855 env. to Halifax with stamp tied by an oval grid cancel, endorsed 'immediate' and with Wallace N.S. & oval Halifax cds's on back; an 1857 EL to Amherst with stamp tied by an oval grid cancel, and Wallace N.S. & Amherst cds's on back; and an 1860 env. to Halifax with stamp tied by a faint oval grid cancel, and Wolfville N.S. & oval Halifax cds's on back. COVER: 1858 registered env. to NEW ANNAN, Prince Edward Island, franked with a 3d & 6d with large margins, 3d touched at lower right, cancelled with a barred oval. Endorsed 'Registered 904' on front, and v. fine PUGWASH ds on rear. A v. fine and attractive cover from a small village to an uncommon destination. (Image)

RARE BISECTED FRANKING TO LONDON: 8 Apr. 1859 env. (minor wrinkles) to London franked with a strip of three 3d, the last one of which has been bisected diagonally to make up the 7½d rate, even margins all around, third stamp lightly tied by bar cancels and with London Paid cds on front and Halifax ds on rear. Carried on the Niagara originating in Boston and to Liverpool. Very fine and attractive. (Image)

RARE 1851-60 6d YELLOW-GREEN BISECT ON 9d RATED COVER: An 1860 env. to Bridgetown franked with two 6d stamps, one bisected diagonally, tied by an oval grid, with Bridgetown ds on rear.
