Austria accumulation with albums, stockbooks and folders. The best is a KA-BE that has decent early material including the early Franz Josef set with more items that can be pulled out. The rest of the material is modern and mostly complete sets mint and used. A candidate for consolidation into one album. Well worth the estimate. (Image)

Austria and Offices

image Sale No: 437
Lot No:350
Symbol:*/^
Cat No:Collection

Austria and Areas outstanding collection mounted on attractive homemade pages with issues to 1908. Assembled by a very knowledgeable collector over many years. The emphasis on clear, readable cancels throughout, is immediately noticeable as these were the only ones he put into the collection. Many times extras are present just because of this, along with scarcer examples. Starts with six pages of the Arms issues sorted by shades, types and papers plus some of the hard to find St. Andrews Crosses. Next are both Franz Josephs sorted by shades and types and again includes four of the “crosses”. The 1860/1861 Arms feature a nice array of shades. The first issues of the Monarchy also are good for shades plus the two printing types along with being sorted by perfs. The last of the regular issues are well populated but merely included for the cancels. The newspapers are much like the previous sections with types, shades, papers and printings expertly sorted. This is followed by telegraphs, judicial service stamps plus Danube Steamships (both real and reprints). The twenty-nine pages of offices are put together much the same as the previous section but not quite as comprehensive. Condition overall was also a priority so, it’s much better than average. Get yourself a Ferchenbauer and enjoy. (Image)

Belgium and Colonies extensive mainly mint collection in three Scott Specialty albums 1849-1997. Spot check revealed that most of the stamps are previously hinged. Strong throughout missing only the most elusive from completion. Weakest in the pre 1920 sections with used filling many of the spaces here. Strong BOB with many good parcel post sets. Includes: mint #108-122, 124-137, 171, 212-215, 221, B1-B24, B69-B83, B125-B131, Q61-Q80, Q132-Q138, Q139-Q172, Q310-326, Q343-361B, and Q374-Q377. Well over 85% complete for the pages. Plenty of power in the mint complete sets along with clean continuable albums should put this one on many bidder's lists. (Image)
