British Commonwealth The Devick Correspondence Find - Registered Covers to British Columbia, 1934-1937, with 21 covers (mostly O.H.M.S.) mailed to the Devick family in Haffley Creek, British Columbia. All of the covers are registered and franked with a colourful array of different KGVI issues, mailed from a good variety of mostly better countries. There is also an important variety of postmarks, including despatch, transits, RPOs, receivers, instructional, etc. Many have creases or other faults, still overall fine for such a group. Scans show a sampling, including some of the various postmarks on back. A rare opportunity to own new-to-the-market material. (Image)

Great Britain Collection of Stamford Mercury Cancelled to Order Covers and Wrappers, with 25 items on quadrille pages in a Plymouth album. The Stamford Mercury was a newspaper publisher who were allowed to use their own precancel, made in the form of a "hooded circle". This collection is arranged chronologically from 1944 to 1974. 7 of the items have addresses on them, and all items appear to be different in some way. We note an error of colour cut square, where the ½p blue was printed in turquoise. Very fine, an interesting collection, great start for expansion, see scans for an idea. (Image)

Guadeloupe 1872 15c Bister Imperforate on Folded Letter, franked with a very fine Yvert & Tellier #22, mailed from Petit Bourg to Pointe-a-Pitre, with "Guadeloupe / Petit-Bourg / 7 OCT. (73)" c.d.s. and boxed "P.P", back shows a next day Pointe-a-Pitre receiver (in blue), very fine. The letter inside is datelined "Trinité, le 7 Oct, 1873". Owner's write-up reads "An unusual single franking, while Petit Bourg on the east coast of Basse Terre is only a short distance from Pointe-à-Pitre it would not be considered a local posting and the normal domestic rate was 20c, a rare cover from this small town". Ex. Grabowski and Wyer collections. Rsv. $375. (Image)

Hong Kong 1903 Colour Illustrated Post Card to Wolseley, Assiniboia, mailed from Shanghai on DEC.18.1903 to Wolseley, Assiniboia (JAN.9.1904 receiver on front) through Vancouver BC (JAN.6 transit). A Chinese Imperial Post card uprated with a 4c Hong Kong adhesive, the card is hand illustrated on message side with a father and daughter flying a dragon fly kite. Ireland 1838 Drogheda Ireland to the United States Stampless Folded Letter, with letter inside. Has a "Ship Letter / Liverpool" 2 ring oval with crown over date handstamp on back. Maritime markings cat #E (dated) with a catalogue value of £450. Unfortunately part of the datestamp is missing due to opening. Also a Drogheda MAR.12.1838 datestamp on back, as well as a "Paid at Drogheda" "PAID / MAR.13 / 1838" 2 line square handstamp and a "New York / SHIP / APR.17" circular handstamp, all on the front. Note repaired tears on the front and some minor staining, still an interesting and early Irish cover. (Image)

Ireland Collection of Great Britain Used in Ireland Stamps and Covers, 1832 to 1922, includes a SEP.9.1832 folded letter from Dublin to New York, via Liverpool, with New York arrival note inside indicating SEP.22. "24" rate handstamp on front in black applied in New York. Also a local Waterford cover with a GB Scott #3a, Scott #27 on a cover from Dublin to Genoa via France (cat. $200 on cover) and a pair of #82 plate 22 on a March 1882 cover to Paris (cat $95) as well as a postal stationery card to France with an Edgeworthstown #206 duplex (cat. £25). Also includes numeral cancels on pairs of Penny Reds, with #21 Auchlincloy numeral (cat. £35) and #s 32 Ballinasloe and #206 Edgeworthstown duplex cancels (cat. £25 each). We also note a North West T.P.O. Night Down cancel on cover and revenue stamps. A Sinn Fein propaganda label, and a 1907 Irish International Exhibition Dublin label.
