Old Time Collection of Covers, 1840s to 1920s, with about 400 covers mounted on over 200 pages, includes a few stampless, then mostly 1850s to WWI. A tremendous variety of material here, with many early imperforate frankings, postal stationery (used and unused), postage dues, censored, tons of postmarks, a few Lombardy-Venetia, and much more. Lovely Collection of 53 First Day Covers, 1957 to 1962, mostly all different (only a few duplicates, including better), with mostly complete sets, including many valuable. The catalogue value for the stamps alone would be $4,627 (for mint) or $610 (for used). All are unaddressed and with cachets, and a few have a red handstamp on back from the "China Philatelic Company" in Peking. A rarely offered collection, and a similar collection (containing 64 covers in the exact same era) recently sold at auction for $5,250. Very fine and rare, see scans of a few examples online. Three Interesting Air Mail Covers, first is #C1-C2 on a very fine cover from Marseille to Paris on JUL.7.1927 (stamps alone catalogue $450); second was mailed from Paris to Indochina in FEB.1927 by first flight, franked with a combination totaling 11f50, with handstamps "GRIFFE" in black, "RAID INTERROMPU / PAR ACCIDENT / RETOUR A L'ENVOYEUR" in purple, returned to sender; third is a card from the "1ere Exposition Internationale de Poste Aérienne" in Paris, postmarked there on FEB.6.1930. Europa Catapult Mail Covers to the U.S.A., includes a SEP.10.1930 Seapost flown cover to New York and onto New Jersey (with lovely seaplane perforated label on back), and a MAY.7.1933 cover from Koln, flown on the supplementary flight to the S.S.
