Lot of 17 Graf Zeppelin Pioneer Postcards Lithos and RPCs Lot of 17 German postcards related to the Zeppelin Airship. Oldest one that's dated is c. 1909. Some lithos and some RPCs, including two that feature General Grafen Zeppelin himself. One has a printed autograph under his photo. An advertising litho of a groom flagging down the Zeppelin is in the collection, plus many more postcards of the Graf Zeppelin Airship itself. Est. $100-400 (Image)

Lot of 3 First Flight Air Mail Collection Graf Zeppelin Airship Three pieces from the First Air Mail Flight of the Graf Zeppelin from the U.S. to Germany, October 28, 1928. Two covers, both canceled, with one mailed to Paris, France from New York, has original letter with Superintendence Co., Inc. Produce Exchange New York letterhead. The other, sent to Germany, has handwritten, "German Air Ship L.Z. 127 from Lake Hurst, N.J." Black and white blank RPC postcard of the Airship Graf Zeppelin lifting off from a hangar in Friedrichshafen is dated Sept. 18, 1928. Est. $100-200 (Image)

Hindenburg Zeppelin Nordamerika Europa Postcards Covers Lot of six includes a used cover from Germany to New York and postcard from Germany to Hannover, Germany, that were aboard the German airship LZ 129 Hindenburg in 1936, with LZ 129 typed on the cover and ink stamped on the postcard. The Hindenburg disaster occurred on May 6, 1937, in Manchester Township, New Jersey. There are two more Zeppelin RPC postcards from California and New York, c1929, and another used Zeppelin cover from Germany, Also, c1936. Covers and postcards with special German Zeppelin stamps. Four 1936 Hindenburg Postmarked Covers This lot contains four covers delivered by the ill-fated zeppelin, a year before the tragedy. There are postmarks on each of the covers that are from the Hindenburg, one being a "First Flight"cover. They are all in nice condition. LZ 129 Hindenburg (Luftschiff Zeppelin #129; Registration: D-LZ 129) was a large German commercial passenger-carrying rigid airship, the lead ship of the Hindenburg class, the longest class of flying machine and the largest airship by envelope volume. S.S. Olympic Cover & NY RPC Delivered by Zeppelin Two rare pieces of zeppelin delivered may, including an RPC from a scene in NY and and a cover with a postmark of the SS Olympic. The Olympic was the first of a class of large ocean liners built for the White Star Line to serve the lucrative North Atlantic passenger trade. She was built at the Belfast yard of Harland & Wolff and was launched on 20 October 1910. Both pieces are in nice condition. Est. $60-200 (Image)
