Garman of ACF (Australian Commonwealth Forces), pre-franked 8m per overseas rate (until Apr. 1940; now 13m overseas/7m inland) & tied by 2 strikes of local postmark (Dorf-5); a) re-routed to "soldiers club" JERUSALEM where frontstamped 10 SP by civilian post & b) 16 SE by AIF FIELD P.O. 11 (Sach-K55; Australian Comforts Fund hostel at Fast Hotel, JERUSALEM); as soldier already moved, c) postcard transferred to BASE P.O. B.W.I. (Sach-K53; Advance Base Post Office, GAZA) where backstamped 22 SE 41 transit; d) probably here passed censor 3191 & as addressee absent returned NAZARETH, backstamped 29 SE (Dorf-4) + inverted impression on front: e) from there, series of 'cancelled-to-order' postmarks at civilian post offices with full postcard rate frankings by sender - BEIRUT (1 X 41), franked 75m; f) DAMASCUS (2-10-41), franked 25m; g) AL ARZ Lebanon (4 X 41), franked 20m; h) BAALBECK (5 X 41), franked 10m (Syria/Lebanon were liberated July '41); i) AMMAN 17 OCT 41 (as Proud-D19 but unlisted), franked 3m. Unusual.

Postwar Polish forces in Palestine: 1 VI 1945 stampless "on active service" airmail stationary military cover from Polish Forces FPO 112 (JERUSALEM?) to GEDERA tied by full strike of FPO postmark + Polish forces censor cachet (Glad-54); backstamped 4 JU 45 REHOVOT (Dorf-7) transit & next day GEDERA (Dorf-3) arrival; slit open at top. Very fine.
