1885-93 Vurtheim Wagon with Pole imperforate colour trial singles in the issued colours on gummed paper comprising ½d grey, 2d purple-brown, 4d bronze-green & 10/- dull chestnut plus 1887 2d olive-bistre & 1893 2½d mauve, unmounted except as noted, a couple with minor blemishes. Mathews states at p40 that these "colour proofs ... in their issued colours" are "very rare".

1895 Penny Postage 1d Train Wagon & Flags SG 215c group comprising a vertical pair Imperf Between pair */** SG 215ca, a purportedly Fully Imperforate vertical pair SG 215cc unused (which may be another Imperf Between pair with trimmed side perfs; stuck down on black card; offered strictly 'as is'), a block of 4 */** with Misplaced Vertical Perfs, a L/L corner block of 4 with 'The Press, P & P Works, Pretoria' imprint CTO, a vertical strip of 3 ** with control dot in lower margin, and an 1896 usage on cover to Germany with Vurtheim 2d olive, all with minor toning and/or small faults.

1902-03 KEVII Crown CA Watermark 6d black & orange-brown SG 250 'SPECIMEN' overprint with Broken 'M' in SPECIMEN variety, no gum, minor aging marks mostly on back. Mathews states (p115) "There is one constant variety on stamp no.41 (the fifth stamp of row 7), where the left limb of the letter M is clearly broken ... [given the quantity overprinted] there can only be 13 of this variety for each [denomination] ... very rare".
