1897 Stampless envelope sent registered from the palace of the Empress of Russia Maria Feodorovna (6 June 1872 - 17 July 1918, initials M.F.), showing the purple stamped marking of the Czarina's cloakroom (Garderobe), reverse showing the VERY RARE EARLY DIPLOMATIC LABEL "Expedition Officielle" with two red wax seals of the foreign ministry either side of the label, addressed to "Miss Temple" at Sandringham (now private home of Queen Elizabeth II), slight rough opening at top otherwise fine and very rare item documenting the postal history of the imperial family.
