1858 (March) First Issue. A RARE RECONSTRUCTED BLOCK
1858 1d blue, dark shade, a rejoined irregular block of 14, composed of two horizontal strips of seven, including two partial transfer panes, types 8d-9-10-6-7c-8-9 / 14-15-11c-12-13-14-15, cancelled by Chachapoyas oval dotted hs (Lamy-Rinck type 24), several faults which hardly detract from this attractive, rare and significant assemblage in the daunting effort of reconstructing part of the plate
Note: The first issue 1d is believed to have been printed in sheets of 160 stamps, 10 across and 16 down, and being composed of several transfer blocks of 20 including 19 types, and more than one printing stone was used

THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE ON COVER
1858 1d blue, strip of four, two blocks of four, irregular block of ten, all featuring 22 examples of this value on 26 Sept 1858 judicial wrapper from Moyobamba to Trujillo, tied by 'MOYOBB' dotted ovals, pin or insect holes affecting six adhesives, other faults impinging on other stamps, the block of stamps apparently seems to have been a block of twelve, still though the block of ten being the largest recorded multiple of this early classic stamp on cover, this wrapper bearing the second largest franking known (Image)
