The ''S.S. Finance'' carried 771 sacks of mail, however there is only one reported mail bag salvaged by a passing tug boat. The collision with the ''S.S. Georgic'' caused fatal damage to the Finance tearing a great hole on the starboard side and funnel resulting in the loss of three passengers and one crew member to the sea. (Image)
