1915, 5 x 1d red KGV, tied by two clear strikes of oval h/s 'RABAUL / NEW BRITAIN' JUN 8 1915, multiple franking on registered cover to Leeds in England, single-line h/s 'PASSED BY CENSOR' on both sides of the envelope, transit dater London and arrival mark Leeds (4.AU.15) on reverse. 1919-23 'Roo' 6d. grey-ultramarine surcharged "N.W. PACIFIC ISLANDS." and punctured "O S", used on registered cover from Rabaul to Brisbane, tied by "RABAUL NEW BRITAIN/16 SE 22" c.d.s., further strike of this dater along with Brisbane arrival c.d.s. on the reverse. The stamp with few short perfs at top and envelope opened roughly at top (with a tear left o stamp) and slightly creased. Nevertheless, a scarce stamp on cover. (SG from £1600)
