1964 Paris Philatec Special Limited Issue Souvenir Sheet, based on the Scott #580 stamp, these special edition souvenir sheets are not listed in Scott as they were not generally available from the Post Office; they were printed in small numbers and only distributed to ranking Officials and dignitaries. The sheet is mint never hinged, very fine and fresh. Yvert & Tellier lists this as “Bloc special 5” at 1,150 Euros. (Image)

We noted a mint no gum Scott 8 (c.v. $275), 3 mint copies of Sc 15, one no gum, (c.v. $300), two mint copies of Sc 25, one never hinged, (c.v. $550), mint Sc 27 (c.v. $100) and Sc J18, used, (c.v. $190). We also noted 3 "de luxe" proofs for Scott 245A, C31 and C32, as well as 25 souvenir sheets and sheetlets and 2 Olympic Games themed booklets. A very fine collection with a few extra copies here and there. Large face value for the recent items. (Image)

Better material includes Scott #s: 4 (m.h., c.v. $85); 15 (m.h., c.v. $100); 20 (x2, m.h., c.v. $275 each, identified by owner); 159 (used, c.v. $60), 176 (n.h., c.v. $175); C27-29 (n.h., c.v. $150 total), and noting other singles and sets cataloguing $20 and higher (including Scott #1500 imperforate souvenir sheet). The lot also includes small selections of primarily mint Airmails, Postage Dues and Semi-Postals. Possible finds to be had by the diligent collector with duplication up to 5 in some cases.
