Mexico, 1864-66 Eagle Issue Balance. 20 covers and 15 on and off piece items, mostly on display pages with many beautiful cancels; nine covers bear stamps having sub-consignment numbers and nine of the other items do as well, some rare including 2r Guadalajara with Zapotlan name (sub number indistinct) tied on cover by S. Gabrriel (Schatzkes 444, Taylor 46/1), most impressive of the pieces has Veracruz 1r 26-1866 and 2r 58-1866 tied together by boxed Soledad (Schatzkes 1800, Taylor 42/2) and much underrated by both), two unoverprinted 1st Period 1r are tied together by Maravatio (Schatzkes 719, Taylor 1/5), pair ½r Guanajuanto 58-1865 sub 56 cancelled with pinwheel mute of Leon on fresh cover, two covers bear 4r stamps, one Mexico sent to France (faulty with cert.) while a Veracruz is tied to a (much nicer) "Por Extraordinario" cover to Mexico; the specialist will enjoy this interesting and diverse group, generally F.-V.F. or better.

Extensive collection/accumulation (duplication) of over 4,500 stamps plus covers well organized by district in five binders, most districts are represented including such difficult as Cuautitlan, Texcoco, Tlaxcala, etc., some cancel interest and an occasional error, watermarked includes a 50c (Scott 115 - $450), about 120 of 4c, 460+ of 50c and around 400 100c issues present, includes quite a few pages of material from the Walter Widmeier Collection (annotated in German) but most are on Hagner pages with English notes on tags, Scott c.v. will exceed $26,000 and of course there are many stamp worth considerable premiums; condition generally quite nice, one of the most extensive collections of this issue we have ever offered.

Mexico, 1879-83 Foreign Mail Issue Collection. Of over 1,400 mostly different neatly mounted by district (all represented) and year in five Elbe albums, includes mint, postally used and remainder cancelled with some varieties present more than one way; the 50c 100c mint or remainder cancelled are present for nearly all districts, sometimes for more than one year, many of these where printed in very small quantities (25-100 stamps) and are desirable in any condition (for many, postally used do not exist), rare postally used include 12c Texcoco 1182, an 85c (382), three 25c on thin paper, 50c green thin paper (383), three 50c yellow (382, 2782, 5483), two 100c orange (2682, 3782), and two 100c black (5383), some duplication but often for such differences as style, color of district name or cancel, with and without name, etc., few blacks, Scott (counting remainder/doubtful cancels as mint) will exceed $21,000, this is a carefully built collection with condition generally above the norm and would be an excellent basis for further expansion.
