1878 (June 4): Double rate Registered envelope from the postal administration in Luxemburg to Berlin bearing a mixed franking of 1865 Arms 20 c. brown with coloured roulette and 1875 12½ rose perforated in a block of four, a fine and fresh multiple, the design shifted to the top right, tied by clear strikes of LUXEMBURG despatch cds with information strike and framed RECOMMANDÉ alongside. In Germany a "Vom Ausland / über Bahnpost 12 / (Pagny - Metz) / Eingeschrieben" railway registration label for registered mail from abroad was added to the obverse. Reverse with distribution cds.
