Cat No:Collection

Outstanding Austria collection/accumulation in two heavy cartons. The owner was an admirer of classic cancellation devices used on Austrian stamps throughout the Empire and purchased every (100% on the stamp) cancel he could find regardless of the catalog value of the stamp. Hundreds of beautiful examples of classic Austria and Lombardy Venetia on pages in the midst of his better than usual collection. Also includes his recent purchases (2007-2010) that have not been added to the main album and stockbooks of general duplicates, modern sets, and the "to be sorted" cancels. The collection itself in 5 mismatched volumes to 1990 is better than most only missing the rarities in need a new album befitting the excellent stamps. Weak back of the book and inflation era. The extensive webphotos only scratch the surface of this prodigious Austrian holding. (Image)

Extensive collection of Belgium Parcel Post markings on stamps. Roughly 22,000 stamps with readable and attributed cancels organized alphabetically by town and route. Aggregated to tell the story of the most extensive railway system in Europe. Unknown catalog value. Clearly legible, parcel, postal, and telegraph cancels many chosen for their upright SON placement including dozens and dozens of first issues most without staple holes. As unique as possible with large numbers of stamps per route. A lifetime of work never organized into an exhibit. Impossible to replace given the length of time and study that went into this assemblage. A copy of the 2003 Jones study of the routes and markings of the Belgian system is included. A never to be repeated opportunity. (Image)

Outstanding Belgium and Belgian Congo collection 1849-1993 in three Scott specialized albums. Mixed mint and used. Mixed condition. Begins with strong classics. Highlights include: mint # 102, 108-122, 124-137, 221, B34-B47, B69-B77 overprinted, B114-B122, B132-143, and much, much more. Plenty of mint modern sets to consider. Not as strong in the BOB issues. Some pages as well some edges on souvenir sheets are damaged. The mixed condition of the stamps and album is offset by the many duplicates shingled under one another inside the mounts. So much fun for a new owner to remount this advanced collection into a necessary new album. (Image)
