Holyland. Eretz Israel-Palestina vintage 1900-1910's era color picture postcard "View of the Colony Em-El-Jemal near Haifa, Galilee", with French-only text/subtitles (with allotted space on back for text in German or in Russian); number 29A of the series, by Edition de la Palestine Moderne of Jaffa. Used domestically in Turkey, locally in ISTANBUL, dated 24-6-1939 (postmarks on front and back). The depiction on the postcard is unusual: the settlement with its then-contemporary rooved houses looks like a Jewish 'colony' but the name belongs to a locale in Jordan, near the desert - and not near Haifa or the Galilee.
