1950, Incoming-Blocked Mail: Germany Soviet Zone/DDR, mixed franking with 6 stamps on registered cover from Mühlberg, 15.2.1950, addressed to Ambon. Due to the riots which caused the self proclamation of the REPUBLIK MALUKU SELATAN on 25 April 1950, the postal service was blocked and the letter was marked with boxed handstamps "TIDAK ADA PERHUMBUNGAN" (no connection) and "KIRIM KEMBALI PADA SIPENGIRIM" (return to sender). The letter was returned to the sender more than a half year later on 23.August 1950. Scarce postal history item in F/VF condition. (Image)
