The "Lily" newspaper. Jerusalem, [Jerusalem year 16 Tammuz 1777]. July 13, 5660. Issue #37 was sent from Jerusalem from a Turkish post office. 5 para in green color.   The newspaper "Habcelet", one of the first Hebrew newspapers in the Land of Israel, came out of the ultra-Orthodox circles in Jerusalem. Its founder, Rabbi Yisrael B.K., began publishing it in 1773. In the year 1978, the newspaper passed into the hands of his son-in-law, Rabbi Israel Dov Fromkin, who published it until the year 1991. This newspaper took a position in various controversies in Jerusalem, usually on the side of the Hasidic "Kollelim".32 cm. Good-fair condition. Stains, fold marks. Wear, mostly at the edges.
