1867 (Sept 7): Cover from Port au Prince to Chaux des Fonds, Switzerland sent unpaid by British Packet, struck in transit in London with "GB/1F 60c." accountancy marking in black Sept 27) with Calais entry marking and further triangular Convention marking "F./29" in blackrn(Van der Linden figs. 1595, 1162). Reverse with 'Pontarlier-N-Berne' cds (29/IX) and arrival cds. A scarce usage of accountancy and Convention marking on the same cover to an unusual destination for Haitian mail at this date. Carried by Steamer 'La Plata' with Calais entry marking on front and reverse with Marseille arrival cds (Nov 17). Minor bends but a fine and attractive mixed issue franking.
