1913, Castellorizo: Ottoman Empire, 1 Pia black on rose postage due (Mi.P31) with privately implemented vertical overprint 'E.?. 50', tied by black cds MEGISTI / CASTELORIZO, 10.9.13 (redesigned ottoman datestamp Coles & Walker fig.108), single franking on registered cover to Rhodos. On the frontside boxed registration handstamp "R" and provisional label "R / GRECE CASTELLORIZO", arrival mark of the Italian P.O. RODI(EGEO), 30.9.13, on reverse. VF condition. Very scarce and apparently accepted usage on travelled mail, expert signed Sorani.

1900/1914, Castellorizo, very interesting collection with ca.90 stamps, mostly used or tied to fragments along with three envelopes. Included are Ottoman Empire stamps with bilingual daters Castel(l)orizo (Coles-Walker fig.108+139) on piece, further Castellorizo postmarks like negative handstamp with cross, cds 'coat of arms with crown', large circular daters from the Hellenic Administration, five different blocks of 4 with privately overprinted Ottoman Empire stamps on fragments, each tied by cds Megisti/Castelorizo (redesigned ottoman dater C.-W. fig.108) and other valuable items. Also included are overprinted stamps of the greek 'campaign issue' and a set of 3 essays with 'Hermes Head' design. A remarkable and recommended source for specialized collectors with plenty of useful postal history background information enclosed.
