Newton & Gordon in "Granandoes", no postal markings and presumed carried privately, the last page with a reference to the remainder of their last order being sent by the Princess of Wales and Capt. Cleveland. The earliest recorded letter from Great Britain to Grenada. R.P.S. Certificate (2003) states "disinfected" though other than the odd trace of ageing this is not evident. Photo

Grenada. Great Britain Adhesives used in Grenada. 1d. Stars rose-red perf. 14 horizontal pair (the right-hand stamp with portion of adjoining stamp at foot), both cancelled "A15" and clearly tied on 1858 (15 Dec.) portion of "St. George's Chronicle" newspaper to London. A fine and very rare franking with exceptionally few such newspapers pieces surviving and one of only three recorded printed matter usages using 1d. stamps of Great Britain.
