ARC COVERS - 1795-1854: A small set of stampless mail inc. an 1795 EL to London with an indistinct "ANDALUCIA/VAXA" hs on front and a "MR/18" arrival mark on reverse (faults); an 1827 wrapper to "N.M. Rothschild" in London rated 2/10d with a good red boxed "GIBRALTAR" arc; an 1832 EL to London rated 2/6d with a v. fine boxed "GIBRALTAR" arc endorsed "per Hermes Steamer"; an 1838 cross-written EL to London rated 2/6d with a fine boxed "GIBRALTAR" arc endorsed "per Iberia steam packet"; an 1839 EL to Cadiz with a mainly good "GIBRALTAR/PAID" arc possibly sent by the packet Braganza (?); an 1842 EL rated with a 9a hs to Cadiz with a mainly good red "[D]E GIBR/S.ROQUE/ANDA. BAXA"; an 1854 EL to Cadiz with a mainly fine orange "[D]E GIBR/S.ROQUE/ANDA. BAXA" and Cadiz receiving mark "R" on front, and mainly fine orange San Roque cds (Baeza type) on reverse.
